This year our theme at Landmark is Accelerate the Vision.
We believe this will transpire through much prayer and consecration to God. If we are to accelerate, or cause faster or greater activity that hastens the occurrence of the vision coming to pass, we must understand what the vision is. The vision or the mission of Landmark is simple, "to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Ghost."
Our mission is the reference point for all we do. In 2008 we will constantly reference the mission statement. If our lives or our ministries are not fulfilling the mission statement, we are probably not headed in the right direction. This year we will course correct often, making little adjustments, always using the mission statement as the foundation for everything we do.
In order to lead someone into a growing relationship, ours has to be growing. This year we have started with the first 60 days consecrated to God to make sure that is happening. We believe it was the disciple's relationship with Jesus that compelled them to fulfill the Great Commission. It was what they knew and understood about Him from living with Him, or being around Him, or being in His presence for 3 ½ years. Likewise, we determine to be in His presence, communing with Him in prayer, in order to fulfill our mission.
Prayer is the accelerant. Prayer is the fuel. The vision has and always will be reaching our world - making disciples of Christ. Our goal is to allow God to empower us so we can “go ye therefore...” and allow God to engage a lost world through us.
